I recently had the misfortune of working with someone who was never satisfied with my writing. And when I say never, I mean never, ever, never. I literally couldn’t get approval on a two-word call to action. Think I’m exaggerating? I wish! It was a soul-sucking experience, which ultimately led to my resignation.

Why am I tell you this? Because sometimes Google’s algorithms can seem like that – ahem – person. Well, that might be a bit harsh. Google isn’t that bad!

Still, as a copywriter, it can be difficult to keep up with the changing demands of search engine algorithms and user behaviour. Just when you think  you’ve got it right, WHACK! Another change and you’re back to zero.

Fortunately, I quit and got hell away from that crazy… oh, sorry, is this thing still on?

I felt my only way out at the time was to quit–which I did. Unfortunately, you can quit Google. Fortunately, however, ContentVerve.com and atcore teamed up to create this infographic, which offers 13 tips for writing content that ranks in Google.

It’s from mid-2014, but most of the tips are still relevant today. The only one’s that give me pause today are numbers 4 and 8.
